I have an XDJRX and have never had that problem on 1.6 or 1.8
I had an XDJ-RX (the all in one) and I LOVED it... except that I'd get an E-8306 File Not Found error at random and the only way to "fix" it was to restart the unit. I read something today that the firmware 1.70 fixed this issue. Can anyone confirm if that's the case? I currently own a DDJ-RX to use with Rekordbox DJ, which I also like. At this point, I'm not sure whether to stick with this setup or go back to the XDJ-RX. I'm seriously right in the middle on this one. Any thoughts, guys?

Rick, maybe I had a flaky unit? I had it happen 3 times in 5 gigs... way too much for me. I don't know what firmware I was on. I sold the unit back in August. I really like the XDJRX a lot, but that "issue" scared me away. I'm considering giving it another go.
Pioneer has a reputation for quality and dependability, I'm sure that
the XDJRX lives up to it too. Maybe your unit was faulty, but I guess
growing pains are to be expected with something so new.
For my experience, it does everything it was made to do, and has some
controller ability too.
I think I'll give it another shot. The only downside is the 10,000 song file size limit. I'm approaching 10k songs in my library.
What I do is put songs in playlists that I'm mixing together
makes it so easy and organized. Hour one, hour two, etc.
On my DDJRZ I have plugged into MacBook with hard drive of my
entire library, then I just export what I'm using onto usb for the XDJRX.
So far... I'm also having a XDJ-RX firmware 1.80 which I cannot rely on for using on the road. Tried various USB sticks, but now and then the thing won't load my waveforms anymore. Happens on any random track, and from then on, all tracks I load won't show the waveform. Even if they're analysed well in RB. Result: all future tracks I load have no cue points, no waveforms, no sync, nothing (back to the 90's mixing :p) ... Only solution: a complete reboot (bye bye sound!) and this takes quite a long time to reboot and load the USB, this is almost over a minute --- I really don't trust the reliability of that (nevertheless fantastic!) controller :( I was using Traktor and Traktor S2 console - never had any problems or crashes, I *was* extremely happy but ... I wanted Rekordbox... So far this (expensive) investment was not a good choice :-(
Yeah... that was my problem before. Random issues, having to reboot the unit. I had it happen during "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC DC. Talk about a mood killer! I like Rekordbox DJ with the DDJ-RX. I think I'll stick with that for now.

This would be just one of the many advantages of using the RX with Rekordbox DJ.
