Recording time limit?

Yes, the current limitation is 3 hours although I'm not sure why. I'll ask the engineers for an answer and/or the ability to record longer sessions.

I once recorded a set that was longer than 3h and after the first file reached the 3h mark a new file was created automatically and the recording continued with that file. This did not happen with you?

Well I can't really tell since I deleted the USB content long ago. I'd say it didn't happen, otherwise I would have sawn there were more than one big sized file there and I'd have moved them all from the USB memory, but I can check next time I record a long set.

Anyway it would still be good to know from Pioneer if the limitation exists and if it can be worked around somehow...

Hey @Pulse... I've been recording my wedding sets lately and it just stops at three hours and no new file is created. I'm using the latest version of Rekordbox. Any new insight on this?

Last update was that the recording should start a second file. Which firmware are you using on the RX?

Oops, I should have clarified, I am actually using the DDJ-RZ. I have the latest firmware. It definitely just stops after 3 hours, and doesn't create a new file.

@cpoynter > Yes, that's a BIG difference; one is through hardware, the other is software.

So currently, rekordbox stops recording after 3hrs, but a future update will have it split the recording file and continue.
