It has been suggested in the past, but I'm not sure if there are plans to implement any changes at this time.
xdj1000 hot cue - delete method is truly awfull
the way it should work in a logical mind is:
you are cued and paused over the hot cue: press and hold delete!
or
in a super ideal world you would just hold delete down and push the hot cue to be deleted simultaneousley, but as the screen isnt multi touch........ dream on
after all its only a £798 player..............
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
at the moment deleteing a hot cue is hit and miss or you can only move a hot cue - believe me there is nothing "hot" about any of this overly complicated process, especially when your migrating from traktor. (A to set hot cue - shift + A deletes hot cue) :( :( :(
come on pioneer i can get more done on an traktor X1 controller than i can on a pair of xdj1000!!!

I've seen this a lot on the forum and tend to agree. Adding/Deleting hot cues shouldn't require so many steps since they're intended to be added/deleted on the fly. I like the Traktor method when using the S4 series whereas to set a hot cue you simply press it. To delete, hold shift and press the hot cue. I'd be happy with something as easy as press + hold for 2 seconds to delete. I find having to engage/disengage record to be a bit cumbersome.
This is essentially why I map all my hot cues in RB prior to DJing.
So here's what the team had to say...
The method of pressing two buttons together is not possible due to the hardware limitation (single-touch display). Holding a button is technically possible and will be investigated but there is no guarantee it will be implemented in the current hardware, even by a future update. The method of pressing one button to delete Hot Cue is now considered for future models.
Most customers are satisfied with the current method because this method has been used for more than 10 years since Hot Cue was first implemented on CDJ-1000.
Any specification change in the current models should be avoided because many users are already accustomed to the current behavior, which could cause many complaints if we change the specification.
