DDJ-SX2 Right Deck Pads Flash

My DJ-sx2 has an issue with the right deck.  Some of the performance pads flash for no apparent reason.  The issue is not present on the left deck.  Everything functions normal. Just curious if there is a quick fix or if I just need to live with it?

Hi Matt,

Sorry you're having this issue.  Does this happen constantly or intermittently?  Since there are so many parts in a setup like this, please try these quick steps so we can attempt to pinpoint the issue:

  1. Update to the latest firmware here (Windows users will also need the driver)
  2. Use a different USB cable
  3. Use a different USB port on your computer
  4. Test with a different computer

Let us know the results.

The problem is constantly occurring.  I should have mentioned the issue was with OS X El Capitan, as well as the previous version of OS X.  I tried several different USB cables and the issue was still occurring.  As soon as Serato DJ loads the pad that is flashing in the video turns green at about 25% brightness. When a song is loaded the is when it starts to flash.  Aside from that everything functions normally.

I Boot Camped into Windows 10 on the same machine and the issue is not present.

I am guessing there is an issue with Serato DJ and OS X.

Thanks for the help.  I guess I will just live with it and hope a future update will resolve the issue.

@Matt > Thanks for the update. Look at the bright side, at least you know the hardware isn't broken!

Best guess is there is a leaking diode and electrical current is flowing into the LED's causing them to flash. Or something like that, which was explained by electrical engineer I know.  Since the pads worked for me I just lived with it, well until I got sick of it and sold the problem child.

Thanks for the reply. Probably i ll do the same because i am out of warranty and i am not planning to spend 300+ for a defective unit. At least as you mentioned the functionality isn't affected.
