CDJ-2000 ver1 play LED

The red led on my play button died so I replaced the part for a new sealed DWS1409.

Now the play LED does this.

The seller says "but this is not a faulty , it is a special design by pioneer ."

Is that correct or is this a fault?

I can have one cdj2000 that does this and one that does not, looks odd.

What do you think please.

That's awesome - I want one!

Yeah, it looks like they've got a RGB LED in there as opposed to the usual green-only LED. Does it still blink when it's supposed to?

Yes it blinks RED. The seller said "All the Pioneer we sale are come from Pioneer Japan direct . I do not think the Pioneer UK told you the right information .If you do not trust us ,you can send the item to Pioneer to check if it is a fake or genuine . There is another version made in Malaysia with the red color only .not my item . Maybe the item do not match your request ,bu t never said "a counterfeit part with a multi coloured LED." All my items all genuine ."

When I spoke to my friends at Pionner service centre oxford. They said pioneer have never made a traffic light part and its a fake pioneer part.

Yes it looks awesome agreed, but not matching on both cdj's is setting off my ocd worse then when the green button has a broken led.

@Ben > To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't worry about it. The aesthetics of the colour will be the only issue you likely have. The seller is full of you-know-what and put the wrong part in. Pioneer only started using RGB LEDs in the pads not too long ago, and certainly not in the button (unless they use an RGB LED because it produces a specific shade of green they couldn't get as a single-colour diode, but somehow I doubt that's the case).

This is the new part, I have taken it out and put my old one back in. The button press was not as good, you had to put some pressure on the button to activate it. here is a video of the part. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7zZFMaIb-M

Im going to send it back and buy from somewhere else.

Its a very good counterfeit pioneer part I guess.

It could be a genuine board that the seller "refurbished" themselves and happened to put in a different switch and/or LED.
