just found out the retail price of the DJM 900 NXS 2 is:
$2200 in the USA
$3000 in Canada
When you convert the currency it works out to the same more or less...
I am dying here. $3000 for a mixer?
What I wonder about is if Pioneer will sell the quantities they used to, given that in this day and age, I could buy a controller, software, speakers, cables, basically everything I would need for a setup and possibly more and still achieve the same performance. I hope the resale value drops dramatically as I feel $3000 (that's without taxes too) is absolutely unjust. I know there are many arguable angles to this from Pioneer as to the cost to build but I highly doubt it justifies the sale price tags.
I could build a car made of all diamonds and the high price tag would be justified too but at the end of the day, that would only appeal to a very small group of people. Others (majority) would just drive a car that does the same thing that does not have diamonds in it and pay a lot less.
I hope that Pioneer can reconsider their price points in the future.
Just my thoughts.
