if the license expired then the option will go away, Rekordbox 4.0 will always open in "export" mode for you to prepare and export tracks to drives.

I would expect after a trial expires that it would automatically rollback to export mode but it didn't. The option to "toggle" between modes is also missing. ** Sign **
So how do I restore without doing something drastic like reindexing 20k files?
it does already, can u post a screen shot of exactly what you are looking at? I'm confused on what screen you are looking at if you say you cannot see export mode and performance, if you can't see either of those then what do you see?
the option to toggle does go away and Rekordbox will automatically open in export mode
My players are connected to the computer but its not linking to RB since the product expired. Traktor is also installed and is working fine. Both NOT running at the same time. EXPORT/PERFORMANCE drop down box is missing after the trial expired. Last time I used the app was two days prior to expiration.

how do you have them connected?
If i had to guess, you are not connecting the LAN cables as per the owners manual and you still have only USB cables connected
as per the manual:
EXPORT and PERFORMANCE mode
rekordbox provides two types of application for your DJ set preparation and liver DJ performance.
EXPORT mode
You can export tracks and playlists to USB device/SD card, and enjoy DJ performance via PRO DJ LINK (CDJ/XDJ devices connected via LAN)
PERMORMANCE mode
Using controllers and CDJ/XDJ supporting rekordbox, you can enjoy DJ performance with rekordbox dj. (USB cables)
Same configuration last two years, direct USB cable rom player to laptop, no USB hubs in between. This is not the issue really.
the players have never showed up in Rekordbox mode via USB cable except for when performance mode is activated. If you want the LINK option in export mode you MUST connect everything via ethernet ables
Oh wait... the LAN port is disable... I'm such a dummy!!! Thanks for jogging my memory.!!
LOL, no problem man
