DJM-900 drivers not installing on Windows Xp

I just acquired a DJM-900, but I do not manage to install the drivers..

I still have Windows Xp (updated to the last version) on my PC, because I also have another piece of hardware that apparently does not work with more recent versions of Windows.

I have tried both with the drivers v1.303 on the CD (according to the label these should work with Xp), and with drivers v1.5 from the site. I have already tried all the obvious workarounds, i.e. unistalling, restarting the PC, even editing the registry to delete any keys referring to the DJM before a new attempt.

The behavior is always the same: installation seems ok (it even recognizes that the DJM is connected, I also tried that). When I connect the mixer, the pop-up starts but I always end up with an error (impossible to find the driver or something like that, I have Italian version on). This happens both when I choose automatic setup or with manual setup (using windows/system32).

Any ideas?

@Luca > Sorry, unfortunately we no longer support any system running Windows XP.

XP was released in 2001 and discontinued support by Microsoft in April 2014; way longer than any operating system should have been supported.

Even the last supported operating system, Widnows 7, was released in July 2009 - 7 years ago.

I would recommend you update your operating system, but if you're still running XP on your computer, chances are the hardware itself is in desperate need of an update as well.

Thanks for the answer. The Pc hardware is adequate, as I told you in my message the reason why I am still using windows xp is that I have some external hardware not supported by more recent versions.

Anyway I found a workaround, virtualbox with windows 7 64 bits and everything installed smoothly. I known win7 is seven year old, but the djm-900 is hardly younger, and will be soon replaced by the nxs2, which has new features which I do not need, shall I start to worry?

No, it's simply the lack of support for XP that's the problem. ;)
