XDJ 1000 output to high in combination with A&H Xone DB4

Hi all,

I recently purchased two XDJ 1000's and use A&H Xone DB4 mixer. Unfortunately  I have issues with the output level when they are connected via RCA with my mixer. On my Xone DB4 the PK! lights are flashing with many of the tracks and with all the tracks and I can not increase the trim level further than a quarter. It seems that the output level of the XDJ 1000 is to high. Does any one use the same set-up and is experiencing the same issue? Does any one perhaps have a solution? I already checked the level of the tracks and the tracks are on a normal level and furthermore I do not experience any issues with the tracks in combination with Traktor DJ.

The output from the XDJ-1000 RCA measures 2.0 Vrms (1kHz @ 0dB). This is the exact same as all our other players (CDJs, XDJs). This measurement is at the top end of the output "norm," but having your channel gains at only 1/4 is just fine; you don't need to add much gain for a decent signal.

Hi, sorry I don't have your set up but was wondering (and worth ruling out). You don't happen to have them plugged in the 'phono' inputs do you? The phono pre-amp will be over pushing your signal if so. If so, swap the RCA leads to the 'line' Inputs.

I hope it is this as its an easy fix if so.

Just looked at pic of your mixers inputs. Do you have your decks on channels 2 or 3?

Have you tried channels 1 or 4 to see if you have the same issue?

Thank you for your comments.

On channels 2 and 3 you have the option to use phono, but this is not enabled. However I also tried the decks on channel 1 or 4 and I have the same issue. I wish it was that easy...

Also went to the shop where I bought both decks and they agreed that the output level of the decks is to high.

Does any one have the same experience with the this set-up? Or have a solution to this issue?

not yet. Pioneer official Facebook Page say "need to contact Allen & Heath support instead regarding this issue."

but I also use CDJ 400 with DB4 can't have problem.

I posted it as the official comment and I'll say it again - the RCA output from Pioneer DJ players meets a standard line level output; if the input level is too hot on your mixer, don't turn the gains up so high!
