Take it back to your retailer, they should replace it as a defective product.
I' ve just bought my brand new sx2 and after 2-3 days i get this on channel 1 (only). I've tried firmware uptade again even i had already 1.06 but nothing happened. Do i have to ask for replacement?

that looks physical, 2 bad LED's, definitely need a replacement or send in for repair
I don't want repair. I just bought it. I got it only 5 days. They should replace it!
Thanks anyway
i agree, bring it back to where you bought it
I just bought one also and had the same issue with a Channel 3 LED. I'm in the process of requesting a replacement also.
I work in electronics manufacturing, so I have to ask: How is this passing final inspection process from such a well-known brand as Pioneer? Please tell me it is likely related to skip process, and these types of things are typically being checked before flow-out.

@Kevin > Sorry to see that - they are checked but vibration and bumps received during transport could damage a connection previously tested as working. Hopefully your retailer can swap it for you.
It's true! I tested it about a week at home with no problem at all but when i took it to the club i'm working at saturday, after 2-3 hours the leds stopped! Fortunatelly the shop made the replace for me allthough they said that pioneer usually repairs this kind of problems and not replace!
@Pulse thank you for responding, I am glad this is checked. How common is this issue? Is it jtypically related to poor solder joint (cold solder, etc)? I hope it is not a design issue that will eventually result from regular use and vibration in all products. Can you provide a little more data on this instance, since we travel with these controllers so often?
@Georgiadis > The policy is more the shop's than Pioneer DJ's -- if they allow you to return a defective product within x days of purchase for an exchange, that's completely up to them. If they say no, your only option would be to send it to Pioneer DJ for a repair; seldom is gear ever simply replaced with a new product.
@Kevin > Those components are supplied to us as parts, we don't manufacture the individual components, so while there is an expected failure rate (some very low percentage), the products are QC'd before leaving the factory, including a full interface test (buttons, knobs, switches, LEDs, etc). In most cases it will happen within the first few weeks as the product has its initial bumps and wiggles, plus several heat/cool cycles through usage, but it is rare that it happens - I have a 21 year old DJM500 that's been out more times than I can count and it's never had a single component fail. The good news is that's a cosmetic failure and it shouldn't interrupt your show until you have a chance to get it repaired, and if it's under 1 year, it's done so under warranty.
@Pulse thank you very much for the details on this issue! That makes sense on the LED assemblies being supplied and occassionally going out. Surely I wont have issues on my next one (crosses fingers), but it is a good thing that it is cosmetic only. Thanks again!!
