Pioneer ddj sb2

Pioneer DDJ-SB2 I AM A NEW BE, I've downloaded the software checked all of the levels on the controller, speakers are connected but I get no sound. I was told that the software needs to be placed manually??????? Does anyone know how and why I have this problem.
