Firstly sorry for the length of post but i have perserved with problem and want to cpature what i have tried. I am trying to find a way to record from the USB link into an IPAD.
The reason i ask as i cannot seem to get audio to record any other way using IPAD or without investment for other means.
I cannot seem to get stereo in by direct use of IPAD headphone socket. I have tried with a very cheap usb soundcard and camera connection kit (CCK) but i get crackling (even if i keep source feed very low). Potentially i could use a more expensive sound card but it would be nice not to have to buy another box. If i have to go down this route i have found the Behringer 202 usb soundcard. If anyone uses with an IPAD then please let me know if this works?
Because of problem above with more standard recording it made me think i could use the Mixers laptop USB sockets or more likely the new USB send/return link.
So far i have tried the laptop USB 1 and 2 scokets and get nothing showing up on IPAD. I have however had some sucess with the SEND / RETURN USB.
When first tried i only managed a mono feed. By running it through AUDIOBUS into a IPAD DAW (Auria Pro) I can recieve a stereo signal. If someone knows how to do this with Garage band it would be good to know but my lack of knowledge on GB means i am only allowed to record for a restricted recording time (i.e. 32 bars, etc.). I also do not know if the mixer source routing has an effect on USB send / return?
With the USB send / return option I thought i had got it working and recorded a mix. However when i listened back something changed in the mix and rather than recieving the overall output i am getting bits of individuals channels which seem to switch over tracks at some point in the mix between tracks.
Unfortunately I cannot use the PC / Audacity solution as i am running Windows 64bit and it does not seem to pick up mixer soundcard. My PC Line and headphone socket is also shared and seems tempormental as to what it wants to pick up. I have yet to see if Ableton may work as a alternative recorder but line/headphone socket problem will still remain an issue?
My last resort is a portable recorder but again i would like to work with what i have rather than buy something new.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome as i have spent about 1 and a half weeks on this and still not working. Any suggestions are most welcome and thanks for reading.
