DJM s9 Echo effect lagging/no spot on

How's it going everyone.. So I just purchased the djm s9 yesterday and was very torn and either this mixer or the competitors mixer.. So I went with my gut instinct only to be somewhat disappointed..It seems there's a major lag in the echo effect.. It doesn't seem as spot on as the EFX-500 used to be.. I was actually expecting the same if not a better echo effect from my s9.. Also, this is when using just vinyl or a cdj with usb's only, no laptop, no serato... Can someone please help with this issue? Will there be a firmware update anytime soon to correct this issue? Thank you in advance...
