XDJ-RX Sound Color FX issue. Anyone else?

Hello, I'm new to djing and just picked up a XDJ-RX system. I just noticed an issue with the Sound Color FX. Of the four Color FXs (Noise, Gate/Comp, Crush, and Filter), I noticed that the Noise FX can be controlled by both Ch1 and Ch2 Color knobs...Example: I'm playing one track on Ch1(no track on Ch2), the Noise FX can be controlled by both the Ch1 and Ch2 Color knobs?!? The other three Sound Color FXs (Gate/Comp, Crush, and Filter) cannot be controlled in this way. Same if playing a track on Ch2 and no track on Ch1). Any thoughts? Is this normal? Thanks for the help.

@Ben > You should certainly be able to use any one of the color FX on both channels at the same time (just not two different color effects simultaneously). Which firmware are you running? You can download the latest one here.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I'm not at home so I can't provide my firmware info. at this time. But, based on your response, let me see if I can describe my issue more clearly.

When using the Noise FX on Ch 1, I can control it with BOTH the Ch 1 AND Ch 2 Color FX knobs. The other FXs cannot be controlled in this way. Meaning, when I select, for example, the Crush FX on Ch 1...I can ONLY control it with the Ch 1 Color FX knob (I cannot control it with the Ch 2 Color FX knob).

In other words, it is my understanding that I essentially have two distinct decks (decks 1 and 2) and a mixer with this unit. Deck 1 side is control by Ch 1 knobs/buttons/etc. on the mixer and Deck 2 side is controlled by Ch 2 knobs/buttons/etc. on the mixer. This is exactly how the unit works EXCEPT for the Noise FX. I can control the Noise FX on Deck 1 using the Color FX knobs for both Ch 1 and 2 sides on the mixer.

I discovered this because while practicing I went to use the Noise FX on deck 1 and as soon as I hit the Noise FX button, I could hear the FX, but the Ch 1 Color FX knob on the mixer was at zero. It took me a while to figure out that the Ch 2 Color FX knob on the mixer was not at zero. When I moved it to zero the Noise FX that could be heard on Deck 1 stopped. (Note: This also happens when using Deck 2. the Noise FX for Deck 2 can be controlled using the Ch 1 Color FX knob on the mixer)

Again, thanks for any help.

I can provide my firmware info. when I get home.

Cheers

Just so it's clear, the NOISE CFX is a generated sound, whereas all the other 3 affect the audio signal coming through. Does that help?
