FADER START CDJ2000NXS2 & DJM900NXS2 PRO LINK
YO, Im in need of a CDJ Jedi that KNOWS the ins and out of DJ PRO LINK and Fader Start..
SO firstly CDJs are connected to their respective ports IE player 1 - ethernet 1 , Player 2 ethernet 2 and the mixer is plugged into port 3 on the ethernet switch (why couldnt you guys stick 4 ethernet ports on this mixer i don't know) I'm using cat 7 1m cables
Software has been updated to v1.5 on CDJS and v1.2 on mixer
i have installed the mixer USB driver on my mac, and have access to the utility menu.
Both CDJs go Red when the crossfader or faders are moved so they defo are working..
none of my beat fx are on but on channel one the indicator light won't go off (don't know if thats a bug)
BUT for some reason i can't get fader start audio to work on the THRU CHANNEL setting on the channel faders or A or B on the Crossfader...
its been a feature that has been on all the mixers and CDJs i ever used - and i can't find reference to it anywhere, even though its assured by pretty much by everyone I've spoken before purchasing to that it migrated in the PRO LINK Menu, or Utility Settings.. I can assure you its not..
Has Pioneer got rid of this feature?? surely not? and if so, where was the memo on that ? and if its gone Can i have it back please?? if i can move the fader and it turn some LEDs from white to red, you can program some code to Cue Audio.. and a touch button to turn it on and off on the GUI cos its touchscreen..
HELP ME you are my only hope...

WHAT?? does this mean you've taken it away?? i did extensive research and was assured by several dealers that the function was within the utility menu and just needed configuration.. and was available through pioneer link, if you're telling me I've paid an obscene amount of money for top of the range equipment that is essentially more difficult to control i feel slightly cheated as its not mentioned anywhere, and all you're dealers are under the impression this feature still exists..
can i have the email address of someone in your technical engineering department regarding DJ hardware DJ PRO LINK because i would like a solution or workaround, and also the UK manager responsible for dealer product training, and a contact for the technical department who publish the manuals because i think a note needs to be added to the official published manuals.
I havent taken anything away, I don't work for Pioneer, Just relaying what I read on this thread after searching the forum quick to try and help you
your dealer should have not told you it was available if they didn't know 100%
Unfortunately, your dealer was completely in the wrong here and sounds like they were trying to make a sale and talking out of their ass.
The most telling evidence that the DJM NXS2 was not going to have fader start functionality would be the the lack of 1/8" fader start inputs on the back of the unit, this is something that could be viewed when the press shots of the hardware were released prior to the units being shipped for sale.
The second most telling piece of evidence would be the absence of any mention of fader-start functionality on the product page of the Pioneer DJ website for any of the NXS2 products.
If you look in the product manuals for the NXS2, there is absolutely no mention of fader-start functionality. The product manuals for the NXS series clearly mention the presence of fader-start. For example, the in-depth diagram of page 8 of the DJM-900NXS manual clearly shows the fader-start inputs and even references where to go in the manual to learn more about it. This diagrams differs within the NXS2 version and nowhere does it mention menu enabling functionality for fader-start.
The manuals were also available prior to dealers receiving the units for sale–they had plenty of time of educate themselves properly. Unfortunately, their lack of understanding and neglecting hands-on time with the unit has placed you in an unfair situation.
I would contact the dealer you purchased the mixer from, since no proprietary software came with the mixer, you should be able to return it for a refund–especially considering the fact that they sold the mixer using misinformation.
