They some what are the same but take out the cd like you said. Xdj has more touch screen features like hot cue. Cdj has button xdj don't. I guess it all depends on your preference and when you do research on them you see more difference. I just order a pair of xdj mk2 instead of the nx2. I don't use cd,sd card so the xdj fit me more

Folgenxdj1000mk2 vs cdj2000nxs2
Hello Pioneer Team.
Do you think that more o less the xdj1000mk2 has the same fixtures within the touch screen than the cdj2000nxs2 ?
Besides the cd player option, could you do the same with both players ?
Thank you .

It's the physical interaction that changes things IMHO. The XDJ will perform on par with the CDJ, but it's how you physically use them, big on pushing buttons then CDJ, but more into touch then XDJ.
I have seen DJs kill it with XDJs and you would never know it wasn't a CDJ...
I agree with both above, I believe that the machine is only as good as the one operating it!...
Besides, you could always add an SP1 to an XDJ-MK2 if you want physical buttons.
Yes, totally !
is there any other controller out there ?
Can anything else be program o re map for that use ?
not too sure of any other compatible accessory, maybe the Toriaz?
I'm doing some research and even though the difference between touch screen functionality and push button UI is informational for me between the 2, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the cost difference. There's a 1k difference between them. If the XDJ performs the same as the CDJ, why would I want to spend 1k extra just so I can load a CD? Is that really what the 1k comes down to? What really makes up for that price difference?
@Paul
From what I could gather, where xdj 1000 mk2 lags is this:
- lack of HID support for non-pioneer equipment
- only up to 4 beats beatjump (wtf :))
- no SD card reader and obviously cd support
- a lot of the functions are moved to the touch screen
