Actually it just happened for no reason at all. I plugged my usb in and rekordbox was fine with it then i ejected it and put it back in to add afew more tracks and the "DEVICE LIBRARY CORRUPTED" message came up again. Is it a problem with my operating system or what??? Once again i have multiple usb drives that it is happening to.

FolgenDEVICE LIBRARY CORRUPTED
Hi i use a SanDisk 256GB Extreme Pro USB 3.2 Gen 1 and almost every time I use it on my XDJ-XZ the next time I plug it into Rekordbox on my computer I get the "DEVICE LIBRARY CORRUPTED" message and i have to erase reformat and export again.
Things to note:
I use my drive to record my sets on the xdj-xz while in the other port my other dj friends use the same usb drive but do not have this problem.
I use the most recent firmware update 1.25 for the xdj-xz
I use the most recent rekordbox update 6.8.0.0010
I run MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 on a 2019 macbook pro 16"
Wondering if it is happening because I am recording?
I have 3 other people that dj with me using the same drive without any issues.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks

Hello @ survival race, Yes, recording is the likely cause. Recording + improper unmount + macOS metadata writes = corrupted Pioneer folder. Use one USB for DJing and a second USB for recording, and the issue almost always disappears.
It's important to clarify that the XDJ-RX3 does not support the "Hot Cue Bank List" feature found on some flagship players for loading separate banks from a USB. However, the unit is designed to utilize 8 Hot Cues per track by switching between two layers of the Window installation atlanta four physical pads. To access the first four cues (A-D), simply press the [HOT CUE] mode button; to switch to the second set (E-H), press [SHIFT] and the [HOT CUE] mode button again. This toggles between the two cue pages, giving you a total of eight points for performance.

This honestly sounds more like a write/cache issue than a bad USB drive, especially since the other DJs don’t seem to have the same problem using the same hardware. Recording directly on the XDJ-XZ while also using the drive regularly in Rekordbox could definitely increase the chance of the database not closing properly before ejecting.
A few things I’d try:
-
Make sure the USB is always ejected properly from both the XDJ and macOS before unplugging it
-
Try formatting the drive in FAT32 instead of exFAT if you’re currently using exFAT
-
Run Rekordbox’s “Check Library Integrity” after exporting playlists
-
Avoid recording long sets until you test whether recording is causing the corruption
-
Also check if Spotlight indexing on macOS is touching the drive after plugging it in
I had a similar issue once with external storage where everything worked fine until background processes modified files unexpectedly. Sometimes even small indexing or sync operations can corrupt databases over time.
Funny enough, troubleshooting these kinds of technical issues reminds me of using tools like questo simulatore where even a small inconsistency in the process can completely affect the final result.
