I really liked and followed all the instructions in the MP3 tools and more article since 2010. Maybe it's time for an update after 8 years?
I am migrating from windows to mac. Are you aware of programs like Tag&Rename for mac? That was one of the biggest reasons to stay on windows... I love that program!
Also for syncing & backing up my playlists to external drives, I use syncback, which is an awesome program. Is there any equivalent for mac?

Yeah, there are a few articles due for an overhaul, thanks for the reminder. ;)
T&R was one of my faves, so powerful! I use Yate now on my Mac, it's different, but also crazy powerful in editing. It's been worth the $20.

Thanks Pulse, would love to see an update! I am in the process of switching 100% to mac but I still keep Windows for 3 programs now
1. EZ CD Audio Converter (the old easy cd da converter)

3. SyncBack. I have not find a better solution on mac to sync and backup.
My folder structure is like this: on an external harddrive I download my cd's/ beatports to folders (let's say a folder is titled "Daft Punk - Homework", which is part of the parent folder CDRIPS). Then I copy the songs that are good enough for rekordbox on my laptop in a folder with the same name. So the folder structure of my external and my laptop is the same.
On the laptop each folder mostly only has 1 or 2 songs, while on the external it has the full cds (as the external is my full library).
SynBack is great in syncing this kind of structure (e.g. when I put comments or change the star rating on my laptop, that same song on the external drive gets updated, and it does not sync all songs (otherwise it would copy the 12 remaining songs with 0 stars from the external to the laptop).

Yeah, this is way down on my list...!
I use FreeFileSync to do all of my file synchronizations between drives. It's free and full of amazing features.
As much as I loved T&R, I had to move on, and it took a while to find something I truly found as useful, powerful, yet simple as T&R. My new choice for Mac-based tag management is Yate.
For CD ripping (which I do so seldom now), that's pretty much the only thing I use iTunes to do. It can look them up and does a decent job for speed and quality.
