Loss of sound with Rekordbox in Performance Mode

Hi,

I am using Rekordbox 5.2.0 in performance mode with the following items listed below and it works fine in 2 deck vertical, but when I switch to 4 deck vertical and add another 2 x CDJ 2000nxs the sound usual goes off after about 5 minutes of use. The channel mixer stills shows a output but the master volume output in the top right is greyed out. I have updated all the drivers and the same thing still happens. Please help

  • Apple iMac with OS X version 10.8.5 (There is no way I will be updating this, as last Time I did, it ran like a bag of hammers)
  • 4 x CDJ 2000nxs - Firmware Version 1.43
  • 1 x DJM 900nsx2 - Firmware Version 2.05 / Driver Version 1.0.2 for Yosemite

Thanks

Dan

CORRECTION - It also does it with only 2 decks as well!!! I've just been recording a mix for nearly two hours and the audio has just randomly stopped!!!! GRRRRRR!!!!!!

Surely by paying for and using Pioneer's top end / club standard equipment such as the CDJ 2000nxs & DJM 900nxs2, this should guarantee it works correctly with Rekordbox.. I'm getting very tempted to sell it all and get a controller, presuming it works fine with them!!

Please help!!!!

Thanks for the response Pulse, what version of OS X would you recommend I run? It is a Mid 2011 27" iMac

I'm not sure that you'll be able to upgrade to Sierra, but if you can, go to that instead of High Sierra.

I wish I'd kept my original DJM 900nxs and not upgraded Rekordbox!! I used to use that for about 4 to 5 hours with no problems at all...

I'm going to try and update to Sierra in the next few weeks (after I get my back up sorted), but can you confirm that by upgrading it will fix the problem?

I won't guarantee anything -- but I know at least Sierra is supported.

Hi Pulse,

I have updated to Sierra and updated the DJM Driver to 2.02 and unfortunately it is still doing the same!! :-(

BUT. It now seems to be more consistent..

For EG: If I use 2 x CDJ's on 4 deck vertical mode, it seems to work fine (so far). But as soon as I turn on and connect a 3rd CDJ, one of the other decks (1 or 2) disconnects.. and it does the same if you have 1 & 2 playing and connect deck 4, BOOM straight away 1 or 2 disconnect. Sometime both 1 & 2 disconnect, but at different times..

I am running the CDJ's off a powered USB hub and the DJM 900nxs2 is directly in to the Mac. The only way I can play 4 decks is via the Ethernet link and can only use 2 decks in Rekordbox DJ via USB:-(

Any suggestions??

Cheers

Dan
