Yes, it does work with external hardware such as the DJM.
Are you asking the above as a question or is that a problem you're currently experiencing?

Lighting Mode with DJM-900NXS + 2x CDJ 2000NXS
Is it possible to use the DJM-900NXS as a controller? If I only connect the CDJ's the lighting mode works only with deck A, when music starts at deck B lighting is black.

Same problem, already asked in another thread with no response. In external mode, lighting only works on Deck 1.
