Is your username the same between the old install and new?
Hi everyone,
I had an issue with my computer where it wouldn't boot, and I had no choice but to reinstall windows 10. Upon reinstalling, I'm not sure how to get my library to show in rekordbox.
I have my users folder backed up(automatic), and all of my music was stored on another drive separate from windows (same drive letter), but I wasn't able to make an official backup in rekordbox.
Is there a way for me to restore it?
Thank you

Hi Pulse,
No it gave a new username, strange as I didn't pick it.
I think I have it working now. I copied over all my rekordbox files from my old windows user folder, then did a find/replace on the datafile.edb in wordpad to swap out my old username to the new, that loaded my track names, comments etc up but the tracks themselves wouldn't play For some reason (perhaps related to the username) my folders were locked. I unlocked those and it seems to be working for me now. I just had to reanalyze them all, and refresh the album art, and so far so good.
Can you see where I might run into trouble with above method? Any place else where I might need to change something?
Thank you for the response!
That'll be it, you should be good to go!
Sweet! Thanks again.
No problem, let us know if you run into any other hiccups or have other questions.
Hello - i reset windows (didnt do a full reformat) i have the old rekordbox folder how to i reinstall rekordbox without overwriting and keeping my cues/grids etc
Hey Richard,
Provided you have everything in the same location, simply reinstalling Windows should have kept the user data, so all you need to do is install rekordbox again.
