Load track A & B keyboard shortcuts not working, others don't work when browsing

Hi guys

I am using Rekordbox v5.2 trial version on a Mac computer (Sierra 10.12.5). Trying to get my head around how Rekordbox works before I commit to spending some money on a controller.

I am able to setup most of the keyboard shortcuts quite easily but for some reason shortcuts set to the Load Track A & Load Track B under Link Export don't work. The only way I can load tracks onto the decks are by dragging them which isn't such a great experience.

I have tried setting them to various different combos, (command + left cursor, option + left cursor, command + Z) but I can't get anything working.

I have noticed when I have tracks highlighted in the browser shortcuts to the players just in general (I.e play) do not work. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be like this as its a rather frustrating experience.

Thanks

The shortcuts you describe, for Link Export, are to load songs to linked hardware players, not the virtual players. Oddly enough, there are no shortcuts to load tracks to the virtual players under EXPORT mode.

You're actually better to try using PERFORMANCE mode, which is where the magic happens with a controller. EXPORT mode is really more for music preparation / organization, and previewing songs. PERFORMANCE mode certainly has shortcuts allowing you to use the keyboard to load tracks to decks -- but a hardware controller also has those features, negating the need to assign shortcuts.

Hello,
I am having the same problem as Mikey.

I am using Rekordbox 5.3.0 in performance mode with the controller DDJ-RR

I am not able to load a song into the decks with my keyboard shortcut
ctrl+ Left Right arrow = Load track in deck 1
ctrl + Right arrow = Load track in deck 2

For a strange reason sometimes I am able to load the song after pressing the following combinations:
ctrl + Left arrow + Right arrow = Loads track in deck 1
ctrl + Right arrow + Left arrow = Loads track in deck 2

In addition to this keyboard shortcuts stop working if I click somewhere else apart from any deck in reckordbox. For example: if I press the arrow keys up/down to scroll through my music I am not able to pause/play the song, or return to the cue point using the keyboard shortcuts. I need to click anywhere inside the decks and the keyboard shortcuts work properly after it.

I have manually removed every default keyboard shortcut and added only the ones I am willing to use, so I am sure that the shortcuts are not used somewhere else.
The keyboard shortcut problems occur with or without the controller connected.

Thanks

@DVent > The shortcuts for "CTRL+ARROW" don't necessarily work on their own - you may have to add SHIFT or ALT to that combination.

What key combination / control are you trying to use to play/pause the song? Again, it could be your choice of shortcut keys which are causing the issue for that as well.

Thanks for your answer.
I had just change the shortcut combination but the problem continues. I tried ctrl + shift/alt + arrow but I am still having the problem.

for Deck 1 I have:
q = Cue
w = Play/pause

Deck 2:
a = cue
s = play

this modifications were made in the keyboard tab, Performance 1 (preset) option. switching to Performance 2 (preset) has the default shorcuts but I am experiencing the same problem with them.

I also "reset to defaul" all the keyboard shorcuts in both templates but I am still experiencing the same problem.

I tested it myself and it seems to work regardless of the keyboard shortcut or focus. I'll ask you to please file an inquiry ticket here and our rekordbox support team will be able to gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue.
