Help please with Track Titles & Artist info

Hello forum

My main problem at the moment is when i import my music in Recordbox I am not getting the correct info - splitting up in the correct sections

so i am getting absolutely every thing in the track title section including Artist / label / original mix etc rather than it been split up in the correct order

Some of them have worked ok bit the majority are all stuffed in this one section any ideas please how to sort this out

@Karl > Thanks for the confirmation -- the problem is purely that the files which show up having everything in the Track Title field don't actually have any metadata; that other information (Track Title / Artist / Album / etc) is not stored in the file, only on the file name. You'll have to either manually enter that data (or copy/paste to the right field), or use a 3rd party tool capable of drawing that information from the filename and placing it into the metadata fields.

Have you verified that the files you're importing have the metadata in the correct fields prior to importing? What is the filetype you're importing?

The file Types are just simply wav files from all my promo's i get sent - or some times from download stores - some files work but the majority do not

I have not verified the meta data files as i thought these would just be the same as any one elses who have purchased or downloaded

Any help with this would be massively appreciated

Thanks for the speedy response good to know you guys are on the ball

Is there any 3rd party tools you would recommend - I do not fancy manually having to do this my self lol

I guess from now on i will make sure they are all in the correct order - may b in some newer versions of Recordbox this could happen (auto sort)

I use Yate (a paid app, but FANTASTIC audio file / tag manager); it allows you to set up a whole bunch of cool tasks / automations for exactly this kind of thing. You could even configure several different templates to accommodate different music providers having different naming conventions for their files:
