Master deck not swiching

Hi all.

I have an issue w/ my new DDJ-1000.

The Master deck doesn't swich automatically when loading a new track.

Example: I start playing in deck A and is selected as master. I load the deck B with a track and hit play and stop deck A. The master should change to deck B bot it doesn't. If I want to chang it I have to manually seclect SHIFT+Beat Sync.

This only happens with the DDJ-1000 connected. If I try rekordbox only with my laptop, works as expected, changing automatically after you change decks.

Can anyone help or has had the same issue?

Cheers

The master doesn't simply switch because you started the other deck; the first one has to stop, or you manually switch it over.

There are also a couple of other conditions under which it will change automatically (eg. crossfader, channel fader).

Well, the problem is that it doesn't switch when one song finishes, or when you stop it or when you load another song in the same deck.

The only way for me to change the master deck is manually.

I was "emulating" a routine someone was doing in a video, everything worked exactly as in the video, except for the master change.. Do you think reinstalling the firmware might do the trick?

Cheers

I noticed this on Saturday night as well, intermittently not switching and sometimes it switches too soon, ie when bringing in a new track which is looped, deactivating the loop will sometimes make that track master, even when the initial track is still playing with fader up.

Hi there,

Same problem here Rekordbox 5.2.3 on Mac OSX 10.13.4.

The problem appears whatever the configuration: all internal or with a controller so it isn't hardware related.

When the track ends on deck 1 and deck 1 is master, normally the deck 2 playing should become master. It doesn't. This is quite new to me, never had this issue before.

This is a real problem: let's say deck 1 was playing at 120bpm (master). Track ends on deck 1. Deck 1 stays master while deck 2 is playing at 120bpm. Now, I load a new track on deck 1 which is at 125bpm. Because deck 1 is still the master, as soon as this new track is loaded, suddenly deck 2 will shift from 120bpm to 125bpm :(

This was working before very well. What happened?????

Thanks a lot for your help!

This will happen if you pressed SYNC on the second deck but not the first; when DECK 1 is stopped, DECK 2 will become master, but then playing a track on DECK 1 and stopping DECK 2, the DECK 2 will remain as master because DECK 1 is NOT in sync mode.
