DJM 450 Digital Recording Noisey

Hi Folks,

Apologies if this has been asked before but I did try searching the forum with no luck. I’m trying to record directly from the digital output from my DJM 450 into my Mac laptop, via the USB connection. When I record, the resulting audio is very noisey - very crackly, almost distorted sounding. My levels are fine, no peaking in the chain. I’m running MacOS 10.12.6. My Pioneer drivers are up to date. Recording into the most recent version of Audacity software. I’ve set the format parameters to match Pioneer soundcard, 48khz 24bit. I’ve tried rebooting both devices. No luck so far. What am I missing??? This actually happened to me once before, but I re-recorded without issue. I’ve tried many times today but no luck. I feel like this is something silly I’m missing. Any help much appreciated! 🙏🏻

make sure you selected the asio version of your driver (if that's a thing on mac) and/or play with buffer size in rekordbox settings

Thanks. There aren’t multiple drivers for Mac and I don’t use Rekordbox. I will try some other buffer and sample rate settings in Audacity. I’m also going to try physical rearranging on the off chance this is interference.

@Mike > You may need to adjust the audio buffer size to a larger value -- that's typically what causes the crackling.
