It also made me sign up gain and log in fresh wtf! :) I have the files here now still so how do I recover them!?
You don't mention you are on MacOS or not.
but if you are...
goto the folder
~/Library/Pioneer/rekordbox
(the user library folder, not the root one!)
make a backup of of it (just duplicate it or something)
when you've made a backup delete the file
datafile.edb
and rename one of the numbered
.edb to datafile.edb
so
datafile.backup2.edb -> datafile.edb
that should restore your collection (unless you've restarted RB a few times which would whipe out all previous backups since RB only maintains 3)
goo luck
Rule #1 > Keep a backup of things.
Rule #2 > Don't mess around with stuff if you don't follow rule #1.
Rule #3 > Don't mess around with things just before your gig.
Okay, now that we've ignored those things... lol
I know the gig has come/gone (it was the middle of the night for me), were you able to recover what you lost, or do you still need some help?
I need some help, all of the backed up library folders have automatically relocated themselves onto the desktop, so I tried to replace them back into the library folder and I get an error message when I start back up Rekordbox:
"Unable to locate database file. trying to use another database backed up automatically.
Date and time of backed up database 2018-06-22 18:00"
The various backed up edb files are between 17.4mb and 18mb so it is obvious that they have the playlists inside them but now these files won't be accepted into the library folder.
Do I need to send you the zipped files so that your engineers can help get them back into a position where they will be accepted into the library folder?
Btw, I did follow your instructions and delete the existing edb file and replace it with the back up file (renaming it after deleting the previous one), it simply doesn't accept it and gives that error message, then immediately turns the 18mb file into 3kb.
have another large gig tonight, would appreciate your help, thx

What did you do?
Hi Pulse, have no idea what happened! Bizarre for me.
I can see your engineers have tried to download the link but for some reason the permissions in Gdrive is bugging so I just sent both of them a wetransfer file.
I have also uploaded and zipped the files to dropbox and you can access them here too:

I have a radio mix I am supposed to publish soon, best efforts to help on this quickly is appreciated.
Btw, I have tried to find an email contact for this but after an hour of trying various tricks to discover any contact email I still can't find anyone I can email to. There is just a phone number of my local Hong Kong pioneer representative, I know the guy and I am sure he doesn't know how to help on my problem. Could you possibly give me a contact as I feel a bit in the wilderness trying to solve it via a forum page if you know what I mean.
