Hi, I've a DDJ 1000 and I've looked that the function with Sequencer (start and stop recording, recording a loop from a playing track) is not available with DDJ 1000.
Other models, like DDJ-RX has the dedicate button. Why DDJ 1000 doesn't have it?
Simply not enough room to put everything on that controller! You could re-map other buttons if those are a priority for you. Personally, I never use the key-sync functions, so I could swap those to be sequencer triggers.

The DDJ-RR has dedicated sequencer controls in about a 1.5" square of real estate.
It would've been nice if the 1000 had it.
If you're comparing the 1000 to the RR, I'll also point out the lack of a touch-strip, and FX controls as well. Why stop at sequencer controls?
not a comparison. just saying it would be nice. Every one would have their own preference as to what dedicated controls they wouldn't have left off of the 1000. You were pointing out space available...

And you hit the nail on the head. There are decisions made during the design process to include / exclude functions or controls, and unfortunately there will be some people who are unhappy with those decisions, and others who wouldn't notice. We're not able to cater to all users with every product, which is why we offer a wide range of different units with different features.
