Does it work with a regular line source?
You say the fader curve is still working, so what exactly isn't working?

DJM S9 Crossfader not working!
Hello Pioneer,
the Crossfader from my DJM S9 isn't working anymore.
I already reinstalled the latest drivers on my Mac and upgraded the Firmware on the Mixer to 1.08.
Faderstart is off and i already tried different Fader Cut Lags. It just stopped working during a gig, i could see/hear no physical damage, even after removing the faceplate. Fader curve and intensity are still working.

Firmware 1.08
Serato DJ 2.0.3
Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.0
15inch 2017 touchbar
16GB Ram
Do you have any Suggestions?

When you restarted the unit, did it start working again?

I had the same issue, the pioneer authorized repair shop that fixed my mixer told me in my case :
" A piece in the slider came loose and fell out. It is the sensor that tells the circuit board where the wiper is"
