Device Library Corrupt Using Ver 5.2 BUT not using Ver 5.1

I have an issue when I plug in my external USB drive (being used for CDJ's) into rekordbox ver 5.2 and above, rekordbox shoots an error stating device library corrupt.

It doesn't shoot that error if I rollback to Ver 5.1.1

USB's are still readable and playable on CDJ's.

Any reason why this is happening?

The USB's I am using are not from my rekordbox collection. They have been duplicated from another USB which came from another rekordbox collection, however this shouldn't be an issue as my friend and I have been doing this since ver 4.

This was a known issue with 5.2, but was resolved with 5.3. Please update and try again. Alternatively, you could test the 5.4 beta released today.

I installed V5.3 and I received the same error.

I have screnshotted below:

My Mac credentials.

Could you please advise.

I will also update to the beta version 5.4 and see if that helps.

I installed the beta 5.4 ver, and I still received the same error.

I am rolling back to ver 5.1.1.

This is very frustrating.

Could you please check in with your software engineers and advise what other system information you may require from me to help resolve this issue ?

If you get this error, please proceed past it and simply try exporting again. We are aware of this error message but chances are it was not actually corrupt, or corrupting the data.

Hi Pulse and thanks for your reply...however it does not make sense to me.

Could you please elaborate with some instructions perhaps?

I am not able to export anything to the external USB as rekordbox cannot see it in the devices pane.

rekordbox will only recognise the external drive when I roll back to ver 5.1.1

If I update rekordbox to a ver beyond 5.1.1 - it will display the device library corrupt message.

Well, the obvious first question -- do you have any information on the drive which is not already in rekordbox? If so, use rekordbox 5.1.1 to update your collection, then wipe your USB drive (format it), then using rekordbox 5.3, export everything again.

Hey Pulse...thanks for your reply. It appears from your response I have no other alternative but to import all history, playlists etc into Ver 5.1, then wipe the HD, then export using ver 5.3? What I don't understand, is why the device library became corrupt? Secondly, this has happened not to one external USB or HD, it's happened to 3. Any ideas? Cheers in advance!
