XDJ-700 Syncing not in sync

Hi guys,

Since I bought myself a pair of these XDJ-700's I am struggling with the SYNC options. Somehow I just cannot get it to work properly.

I have ran all files through Rekordbox, onto a USB stick and am playing from that.

Have linked the decks via network cable as instructed by the manual.

Say I play Deck 1 at 120 BPM and hit the MASTER button for Syncing.

Then I select a different track on Deck 2 of say 122 BPM, which by Sync-linking will be played at 120 BPM just as the MASTER deck is doing.

This should work as the 2 BPM per minute difference is not that big and SYNC is on at both players. Still it will not sync correctly and often I find that the beats stay behind so you get a double beat.

Not what you'd want obviously.

I also tested with the same track on both players, which should be in 100% perfect sync, still nope...it's not.

I recently was at a disco club where they had the CDJ2000 Nexus, these puppies DO play perfect sync, with the same USB stick, so I really wonder....is it a lack of quality between these two players ? Are the CDJ2000 better equipped to handle syncing ?

Have I bought the wrong players ?
( not all of us can just dish out 4000 Euro for a set )

First; ensure that the track you're trying to play has the beatgrid set accurately. You can test this in rekordbox by enabling the metronome.

With two tracks that have an accurate grid position, enable SYNC and check that QUANTIZE is disabled. If you have it enabled and it's snapping off a beat, that could be why that's happening.
