rekordbox/cloud

Hi @Pulse, I followed your tutorial for sharing the same rekordbox db between two systems, and although I know you stated this wouldn't be officially supported, I was hoping you could shed some light on an issue for me.

After modifying my rekordbox3.settings file, and launching on either the local machine (the original) or cloud synced machine, using the same paths, I get an error message :

"Unable to open the database file and any file(s) backed up automatically. The database is initialized."

Which is completely odd because it then proceeds to overwrite the files I provided with new files, so clearly it did find them.

My folder structure is as such:

M:\   <Music is all here>

    M:\rekordbox  <db files are here, datafile.edb and extdata.edb as well as all                               backups)

         M:\rekordbox\PIONEER  <all my album art, etc>

This is from my rekordbox3settings file:

<VALUE name="masterDbDirectory" val="M:\rekordbox\"/>

<VALUE name="pioneerDirectory" val="C:\Users\Tal\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\"/>

I've tried both forward slashes and back slashes, doesn't seem to matter.

And you have the same user (Tal) on both machines, with both computers able to access drive M: without issue?

Is M: a physically connected drive or a network share?

Thanks for the reply. Yes in both cases my username is Tal. Rekordbox loads up fine if I revert the paths to their defaults and dump my db from another machine in the rekordbox folder. I even tried copying the whole Pioneer folder (not just the db's) to the M: (cloud) drive but the result is the same... May I ask what version of rekordbox you accomplished this with? Any other ideas? I've tried this both with OneDrive and with Google drive.
