Rekordbox FX1 Master channel greyed out

Hello,

Why is my FX1 "M" channel greyed out? I cannot select the FX1 effects to apply to Master channel instead of switching between deck 1 and 2?

I would appreciate any help. I'm expecting it's something in the settings but I cannot find it... I attached a photo of the section I am referring about.

Because the DJM-900NXS2, like most DJMs when used with rekordbox, operates in External Mixer mode, meaning the individual channels of audio are sent to the mixer. Because effecting the master audio would require the signal path to go through the master channel, then back into rekordbox, and back out to the mixer's outputs, that would introduce an incredible amount of latency (plus additional audio I/O), so unfortunately you can't select those channels when using a hardware mixer.

Consider using the on-mixer FX set to the MASTER selector instead.

The on-mixer effects are great but none are release effects which is what I was looking for.

I understand the technical reasons to do this on the master but why on the sampler unit?
Is there a way to send samples to the software effects units?
