How long is the SP-16 warranty?

Hi Guys

I recently sold my SP-16 on ebay. I saw somewhere on your site that the warranty period was 1 year from the date of purchase. Mine had passed that, so I had thrown away the receipt.

The guy that bought it is in Italy. He is now asking for the original proof of purchase as he says the warranty period in Italy is 2 years.

Before I go to the bother of trying to get another original receipt from the store I purchased from, can you clarify exactly what the warranty period is?

Here's what I've been told...

The warranty period in UK for specific products (including the SP-16) is 2 years from the date of purchase. The original purchase receipt is important for the 2nd buyer as he could then use it as proof of purchase date and the warranty would be valid in Italy as these countries are under EU regulations.

So yes, if you can get the receipt, the new purchaser would be covered until the end of the 2 years.

It's my understanding that the warranty only extends to the original purchaser, but I'll see what I can find out for you.
