If the crossfader worked as expected with line audio inputs, then the issue was as a result of the software.
Are you sure you didn't accidentally disable the crossfader in the software?

DJM S9 Crossfader not working temporarily
situaltion:
2 DJs playing with S9 in a Club. Best time and the people where dancing.
Firmware: 1.08
Driver: Win10, 1.10
Then the S9 crossfader won't close on either end. Basically dead.
Curve has no effect either when I adjust. Tried to set the cross fader cut to 0, 50 and 100% with no difference. The cross fader is set to default 1mm but i have tried 0.3 and 5mm.... all the same results.
Unplug and plug the USB Cable into the Mixer or restarting Serato DJ had no effect. This was the case with both Notebooks!
We had to switch the Mixer within a HipHop and RnB Set with Scratching parts. It worked, but was a lot of action.
On the next day back home, everything worked fine again. Why? :-/
I can't use the Mixer in a Club anymore, without knowing, where the Problem is! Can you please help me?

Yes. I'm sure this was not the Problem. We had two Laptops, rebooted the second one directly. Furthermore, after we switched to djm 900nexus and rane SL everything worked fine without changing anything.
