You can use the audio interface built-in to the DJM to record over the USB.
Here's a video going over recording with the DJM-2000 in Windows, this one for Mac.
Hi Guys,
Can i connect the mixer to the Mac using the djm digital output (coaxial) ?
If yes, how do I do that ?
Thanks

What are you trying to do??
Hi, thanks for assisting me!
I’m using the DJM 2000 with Traktor and I would like to record my sets.
I’m using all for decks so I have no more outputs available from the mixer for recording.
So, how do I send the audio from the mixer to the Mac for recording?
How many options do exist?
Can I send the audio from the mixer straight to the Mac (with a cable only) without passing through audio interface?
I mean, if you’re going out from the mixer through an analog output, the audio interface is needed to convert the analog audio to digital audio, right?
So, I was wondering, maybe, I can send the digital audio from the mixer straight to the Mac with a simple cable? In this case the Mac would receive a clean digital audio ready to be recorded . It doesn’t work like this right ..;;) Why not? I can’t find any topic or manual explaining this in the web since weeks ..
I hope that what I was trying to say was clear... and I hope you can help me with this !
Many thanks,
iacopo
Goo do evening,
I’m already using the usb to connect the mixer with Traktor and I’m playing with all 4 channels/desk so I can’t allocate anything for recording, unfortunately I need another solution.
Would you be able to suggest me any ?
Why I can’t send the audio from the digital output of the DJM straight to the Mac ?
Many thanks,
