Recording DJM 2000 audacity

Dear all, firstly yes, I have checked the topic regarding my similar issue. Nevertheless, I could not record via audacity.

What have I done so far:

1. Installed the DJM 2000 driver

2. Set the driver to 6 - 2 16 bits as recommended by the video

3. Started DJM up with club set up menu, changed digital out to - 5 db Tried 48 and 96 kHz for recording both do not work.

4. In audacity set the recording device to DJM 2000 and channels to stereo

5. Matched the sample rate and sample format to mixer 48 or 96 kHz with 16 bit. Depending on what the setting was of the mixer.

6. Set the trim and master level to peak at 0 of the djm 2000

End result is audacity is recording however I see no wave forms and hear no sound at all.

Audacity is installed on a MacBook running Catalina version 10.15.2.

Can someone help me out, I have searched the internet but without any luck.

Thank you.

Kr, RASKI

Did you allow the mic access for Audacity within the System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab?

Fantastic, thank you! For the people who have the same issue. I had to open audacity via the Mac terminal to give permission. Check audacity forum for more info.

Compared to my xdj rx the volume is rather on the low side. What is the best way to improve. Simply amplifying in audacity or is there a better way?

Latest OS Update for MAC requires updating to   AUDACTY 64bit

DONT TRY TO RUN BY DOUBLE CLICKING  .your have problems if u do.

Start by  sending the old audacity to Trash  so you start all fresh

Audacity 2.3.2 .dmg file

Installation of Audacity

  1. Double-click the downloaded DMG to mount it.
  2. Drag the “Audacity.app” icon in the DMG window to the /Applications folder icon on the right. Alternatively, drag the “Audacity.app” icon to any other location of your choosing.
  3. Do not double-click the “Audacity” icon in the DMG to launch Audacity from there.
  4. Eject the DMG at bottom left of Finder, then launch Audacity.app from /Applications or from your chosen location.

1) Go to Applications > Utilities

2) Launch Terminal.app

3) in the Terminal dialog type the following command following command:

open /Applications/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/Audacity

This will open Audacity and then Terminal will actually ask for the correct permissions.

this assume that Audacity is stored in your Applications folder. If it is somewhere else, you will need to change the path in the above command:

open /*location of audacity*/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/Audacity
