XDJ-RX2: Hot Cues resetting to location where pressed instead of jumping to where previously set

Hi Pulse~!

I've been having this problem on two different RX2s over the past few months. On some tracks (maybe 20-30% of tracks I play), when I press a Hot Cue button that has been set, it will reset to the location where I pressed it, instead of jumping to where it was set previously. For example, if I have Hot Cue A set on beat 1, and I press A on beat 8, it will reset the Hot Cue to beat 8 instead of jumping back to 1. I can't find any rhyme or reason for which tracks suffer from this. I do have tracks from my collection and my DJ partner's collection, and it seems to be a mixture of tracks from both collections. I'm suspecting it has something to do with Hot Cues that were set in Rekordbox, but I'm not sure. If I reset the Hot Cues while the track is playing, then they seem to stick around. Please advise!

Cheers,

Harrison

Harrison,

Did you CALL the hot cues for that track?

If you loaded the song via instant-doubles, keyword search, or the track search buttons, the hot cues would not load automatically for that song regardless of the "load hot cues on track load" settings.

I am mostly loading tracks from playlists or track search. I have never been aware of the CALL function. I just read the manual section covering it but I still don't quite understand. Can you please elaborate?

Cheers,

Harrison

I've been playing around with it and I'm having a new problem. So I'm pressing the the Hot Cue CALL and it calls the Hot Cues; but I notice a difference between how they are triggered if the button is flashing or lit. I have the Quantize set to 1, and if I want to jump to a flashing Hot Cue, there is a delay of 1 beat. If the the Hot Cue is not flashing, it jumps and snaps perfectly. What is going on here?

Cheers,

Harrison

When you press SHIFT+HOT CUE it puts the pads into CALL mode. Press the appropriate pad for the hot cues on THAT TRACK you want to load.

The one which is still blinking hasn't been loaded yet.
