Hi there just bought a DJM 450 and was wandering if its possible to use CDJ 800MK2's as controllers for rekordbox?... Have read conflicting things.
Have followed the set up guide but when it comes time to calibrate, I'm getting no signal though I can hear the timecoded control wav playing back from the cdj through the mixer.
Do I need an additional sound card or is there some other vital trick I'm missing...
Any help would be massive appreciated... Total noob here!
Yes, the CDJ-800MK2's can play the timecode WAV signal (as an audio file burned to CD).
With the DJM-450 as your audio interface, and the DVS plus-pack activated, be sure you have selected the channel 1 & 2 outputs from the mixer as TIMECODE CD/LINE, as shown here in the setting utility for a DJM-900nexus:
The channel selector on the DJM should be set to the USB source for both channels.

thanks for getting in touch and trying to help... Alas I can't still can't get it working.
DJM-450 is selected as audio interface, and the DVS plus-pack is activated, the only difference (below) is that it's CH1/2 Control Tone line that is selected on channels1 & 2 outputs from the mixer as TIMECODE CD/LINE wasn't an available option.
Also, the channel selector is selected to USB...
Still no joy, but when I go to DVS in prefs there's no signal coming in...
(if i switch over to line on the mixer I can hear the timecode)
Any ideas
You've got the correct setting - it's just labeled differently on the 450.
Try changing the selector to PHONO and then back to LINE and see if it recognizes it then.
Oh, and try adjusting the zoom. Sometimes it's just too far zoomed-in by default.

Tried switching PHONO back to LINE and adjusting the zoom when the control WAV is playing but still no signal in the calibration tab...
Also updated firmware on mixer but still no joy...
Is there any more info I can send to help you troubleshoot? I'd have thought maybe it was the cdj but the control tone is playing fine when I switch over to LINE.
