Hi please note that i been a big supported of Pioneer & Rekordbox DJ for a longtime. I'm very upset of the new turn out of new version of Rekordbox 6.0.
Doesn't make any sense to disregard payed licenses and payed plugins. We been with pioneer dealing with many bug since first versions. The least is to honor payed uses to use the full software. Not all DJ's get 250 000$ a year don't force people to a payed subscription. It doesn't make any sense promoting cloud service shouldn't option that some people have disabled in version 5 and force us to pay monthly fees. Also notice Hardware unlock for Performance mode DJM900NX and DJM900NX2 not even in the list. That doesn't make any sense that why we paid for license to use clubs mixer. You must take note use that buy controller might not want break club setup drag ddj-1000 because djm-900nx not listed!!!
I'm sorry who ever decided this new policy will damage the pioneer image. All software are not perfect and require lots of user testing. Update to fix these issues should always be available.
My recommendation is honor and keep software license separate from cloud services. If you want more money then offer small upgrade price to newer build. And don't downgrade software features and charge people it that wrong Pioneer! Peoples payed for DVS and video plugin they should have to pay for it every month because your team couldn't sell the lyrics option.
Please keep in mind world club DJ's and venues most of the time don't have internet access due many reasons from too many peoples, club too cheap setup network for DJ booth or just lack bandwidth. Too factors to considers that being i charge of dj booths that Pioneer should consider show must go on. Don't limit your product on new bad standards. Lots of DJ's turn over in some nights from Rekordbox DJ, USB or computer or controller or Serator and Trakor. Don't make it complicated with this cloud service subscription.
Missing feature for video on PC users Syphon equivalent is call spout. Please support it. Also user are not all iphone users. Please support app development for android. Consider for cloud access option by making server service application PC & MAC so that dj's can access songs from there main computer at home. Wish list add support other brand use of dmx controller for light at additional plugin charge would be nice knowing lots of clubs uses martin, m-pc onys hardware.
New version hog more system resource than version 5. After install took for ever to migrate music database. New software fixes issue from the old that should been added pass version like video support my tags. Also new 3 wave look should consider keeping key color for those mixing inkey.

Happens eventually to all of us.. just remember - like an OS upgrade, you don't HAVE to upgrade yet. You have a working work flow, just stick with what works and if the time is right and worth your investment, jump ahead then.
I am still doing gigs on my old MacBook Pro from 2012, it does everything I need to video DJ and works with most hardware setups I encounter. I don't NEED to move to RB6 yet, even though it looks cool.

I guess time to move back to Serato. So disappointed. Like seriously?? Screw your users like this, at such a terrible time when we are all unemployed? Come ON pioneer..
We have stuck through all the bugs when Serato was always working great, I have invested so much in pioneer gear. this is sad.. very sad.
I wont be upgrading, wont be held hostage like this.
I'm really disappointed in this release too. Having purchased the plus pack for DVS control on my DDJ-1000 this will no longer work unless I pay for a subscription. And I used to like to save my samples which is another function lost.

very disappointed too, I wanted to pay for the dvs function, no question of a subscription, which would cost more in the end for software or a sufficient license. when beatport is on another platform I would advise. to see mixvibes or other
Same thoughts here... Pioneer DJ/Rekordbox choose for a revenue model based on montly payment. But I think they've just choose for a monthly exodus of paid RB users.
I own a full NXS set with an expensive DJM-900SRT version mixer. And when I want to use RB 6 in Preformance/HID mode, now I have to pay €9,99 each month for a licence.
And ofcourse we all can continue using RB 5 without any problems, and it works as good as always, no issues at all... But for how long RB 5 will be supported and updated then..? Anyone can predict that RB 5 eventually will be phased out.
And that Cloud functions have so much more possibilities, I totally aggree. But why pay even more, like €14,99 each month to even use this option? And then, I'm forced to use Dropbox with their own monthly licence fee, and I can't even choose pCloud, Amazon Cloud, Private (NAS) Cloud, etc. Not to much freedom for a expensive licence fee every month... For €14,99 each month, I would at least expect a free 2TB RB 6 Cloud storage.
Reading all the first reactions over the internet, I found a lot of positive reactions about RB 6, but also a ton of "I'll switch back to Serato, I'll go for Traktor as yet, my next set will be Denon, etc." reactions. And to be honest, after reading about RB 6 and the montly licences, my first thought was, that I'm glad I also own a Serato DJ Pro licence...
I can't sat what other DJ software like Serato will do in the future. Will they follow this monthly renvenue model, or will they fill the gap in the marked, and attract a lot of DJ's who don't want to pay so much money for DJ software which isn't even that perfect yet.
Pioneer DJ needs to make continuously revenue, and then you need continuously payments like Gilette does with it's razorblades, Nespresso with it's coffee cups, and Dropbox with it's paid Cloud storage. But Pioneer DJ may overlooked a lot of customers who can't, or just won't pay for a monthly fee, but which do have purchased (expensive) Pioneer DJ hardware. Those customers might mass transfer to other software, and eventually also to other DJ hardware. And the competition already knows this to good...
En lo personal me siento estafado y robado por parte de pioneer, he comprado 4 cdj 2000nxs 2 y un mixer djm900 nxs2, ya era molesto que comprando equipos tope de gama tuviese que haber pagado mi licencia, siendo que con equipos baratos viene incluida, no obstante compre aparte la licencia para dvs, ahora me encuentro con que me la quieren cobrar por mes, siendo que la compre para toda la vida eso se le llama ROBO.señores yo vivo en sudamerica, aqui los servicios de streaming e inernet son por mucho un completo desastre y el hecho de pagar en dolares con lo devaluado de nuestra moneda es lisa y llanamente prohibitivo. si quieren sacar una subscripcion mesual propongo que lo hagan con esos servicios. aparte no se entiende vende equipos con una licencia obsoleta??? estamos comprando sus productos señores, y si quieren sacar un redito mensual alquilen tanto el equipo como la licencia ya que uno sin el otro muchos casos es un pisapapeles demasiado caro. yo en lo personal me siento profundamente decepcionado y estafado por la marca, en lo personal voy a optar por mi parte por nunca mas comprarles ni un cable. Señores son unos ladrones

Utter trash. I'm staring at $6000 worth of INDUSTRY STANDARD gear. The same gear that is at every EDC in the world and this doesn't allow me to record? A DJM-900NXS2??!!?!?!!? Really??!?!!?!
