XDJ-R1 right hand screen not functioning correctly

Hi I’ve just purchased a 2nd hand unit. When I turn it on the left screen functions fine but the right screen comes on without saying ‘Pioneer DJ’ and stays lit in its test mode and is also very bright. Tried pressing various buttons but nothing changes it. I’ve also tried updating the firmware but when I’ve plugged the hard drive into the usb port and pressed shift + power it comes up with an E8037 error code. Thanks in advance for any help

Richard,

The problem could be that the drive is not formatted FAT32 with MBR to update the firmware; please note that the firmware update mode is activated with SHIFT + USB while powering on.

If you do manage to update the unit and the screen still doesn't respond, it would require servicing by a Pioneer DJ authorized service centre in your region.

Thanks for your response. I have put the new firmware on a usb stick and tried to update using the shift and power button technique. The left screen said ‘downloading ‘ but it still says the same 2 hours later and hasn’t finished. The right screen is still all lit and feels very warm to touch.

How do I activate the firmware update mode?
How long does a firmware update take once the process has been started? Many thanks Richard
