I want to ask if DJM900 NXS2 has maybe some Limiter option setup on REC OUT? Maybe something in hidden menu ? I have problem with recording soundtrack from mixer direct to my GoPro 7. Of course I have mic reduction to can connect to my gopro extend mic or something by minijack cable input, but sound recorder by gopro is very big overload . I made a lot tests and still big overload. There is no overload when main master is open maybe for 5% but it is not work to can hear something in headphones or speakers. That my quesion is there any possible to reduction signal on REC OUT without lost signal on MASTER OUT to monitors.
You're trying to send a line level signal to a mic-level input. The mic input on your GoPro is expecting a lower microphone signal which is then run through a mic amplifier, so of course the audio is being distorted.
You could use the booth output and run a lower level, but the EQ will still get all wonky because of the mic amplifier's curve. Use a proper output to record the audio and merge the two in post.
