DDJ 1000 connected but not controlling anything (windows)

I just bought a ddj 1000 on ebay, and I'm having trouble getting rekordbox to recognize it. I've tried reinstalling the drivers for it, updating windows, reinstalling rekordbox, and updating the firmware on the controller and nothing has fixed it. Rekordbox can "see" when the ddj 1000 is unplugged because "ddj 1000 disconnected" appears in red at the bottom left corner of the screen, but when its plugged in I can't use any of the controls. No pause / cue, hot cues, etc. If I look in the control device information section, its blank when I have the dddj 1000 plugged in.

I have a ddj 400 as well, and that worked out of the box with no issues.

Any ideas what else I can try?
