Please try using firmware version 1.11 which was released just last week.

I just bought a new XDJ Rx3. I've seen all the issues, complaints and troubleshoot, like freezing, waveforms, etc. My question is, does it work better with the original 1.0 firmware it comes with? Shall I update the firmware? I'm a working Dj so I cannot allow myself any issues or troubles while performing? Whats the recommendation?

too many variables of what is causing freezing to tell you what is best. Mine has froze on 1.00 doing absolutely nothing but then I have not had it freeze since on 1.00,1.10 or 1.11 but others have it freeze on all 3
A friend of mine is on 1.11 and did a 4 hour non stop event last night with not 1 issue
All I can personally recommend is test test test, run the controller through a few sets you would do and see how it responds for you
I've just bought one myself (first time Pioneer buyer), i had some issues, not freezing really, more very long waveform loading times, screen lagging, and the top Rekordbox buttons becoming un-responsive for a minute or more (as with play/pause buttons.). so i figured i had nothing to lose by updating the firmware, which by the way supports exFAT for the first time, i'm using a Sandisk Extreme Pro 128 gig with exFAT, it's been smooth ever since, for now!
I also came across a handful of audio files that had skips in them while playing, (now deleted), so maybe the bad mp3's messed with the system.
