xdj-xz issues

Hi,

Received my unit yesterday and have a couple of issues:

- After upgrading firmware to 1.10 my headphone output is now really quiet and distorted

- When using the unit in standalone mode Autoplay does not seem to be able to be disabled. Whether it is switched on or off in utilities it will still autoplay tracks from usb.

I was wondering if anyone else has had these issues and whether they are known to pioneer?

If anyone has any solutions I would be really grateful!

Thanks

Dan Gregory

I am as well. Same situation. Got mine 2 days ago and updated the firmware and can’t seem to get much sound out of headphones

Changing Autoplay ON/OFF does not matter. Let's change A-CUE to ON.

headphones CUE is CH CUE? Is it MASTER CUE?

For MASTER CUE: Is the headphone mixing Vo turned all the way to the right?

For CH CUE: Is the headphone mixing Vo turned all the way to the left?

I just got my XZ a few weeks ago, i actually didn't update it for a while as i was having issues with the usb file format, i finally updated it a few days ago and my system has gone crazy, the audio quality has seriously gone down in the headphones.
now the new 1 is the BPM changes on its own without me adjusting the tempo,

got a video link.https://1drv.ms/v/s!AtbjM-rHMsTmyhw6iY1Yn1fYAfH3?e=5nFMFa

also after it updated, i cant save my deck settings on usb, it keeps on saving the default settings.

Hi pints,

Sorry to hear about that -- are you sure that the song(s) where you're having troubles with the tempo were analysed properly? If the song is electronic and has a consistent tempo, it should be analysed in normal mode, but if the song has a live drummer with a varying tempo, it should be analysed in dynamic mode. If it's wrong, it will seem like the tempo is wandering around even if the grid looks accurate.

There were no changes to the audio circuitry which would affect the quality, can you verify that this is true for all playback, both from a USB drive and from a rekordbox source?

Deck settings are not possible on the XDJ-XZ, only the general settings.

I too have the same issue as Pints, where after the firmware update to 1.22 on my XZ suddenly the XZ is automatically adjusting it's own tempo when a song is playing and when I try a beat match it won't work as the tempo keeps adjusting itself and finally an emergency loop message is shown which locks all the controls and I have to switch it off completely. I thought it was a one time issue, but it seems like I face this issue whenever I play.

Also, I have an RX2 as well, it seems to me that the audio quality on the RX2 is much better than on the XZ.

I think there are serious issues with the XZ and Pioneer needs to address it with a firmware fix.

Please find attached the link to the video.

Try analysing the song in NORMAL mode. You probably analysed it in DYNAMIC mode, meaning the beat grid is trying to adjust itself.

Oh! Okay Thanks, let me give that a try tomorrow and I will post my feedback.

However, I checked my rekordbox setting and it seems to be in the dynamic mode. Hope that analysis in NORMAL mode should resolve the issues. I guess the settings has changed post updating to latest version of rekordbox.

Anyways, Will update my findings soon, and thanks for the prompt reply.

Yes, thanks, that resolved the issue.

However, i find the RX2 audio quality better than the XZ in terms of audio clarity and deeper and punchier bass.

I have tried all the different curve settings but somehow RX2 audio quality seems better.

Any update on why this audio quality difference between the XZ and RX2?
