Some effects (such as flanger) are pre-fader, but others (like echo / reverb) are post-fader. Because the cueing occurs pre-fader, you won't hear the post-fader effects unless you're cueing the master.
Hey together,
I know this topic has been asked a few times but I still want to ask, what the reason is to not hear effects in headphone cue.
The odd thing is, that echo and reverb aren't applied in the headphone cue, but flanger is! (don't know why only one is working).
We have tried it with a XDJ-RX, we had all the effects in the headphone cue.
Even here it says to put the track on master on a RX2 for the to be applied.
Here it says a bit about pre and post fader of the RR

But still, Flanger is working! The other two are not. So it can't be a hard wiring thing with the RR units? Because one thing worked at least. And on the RX all effects were working in headphone cue.
Put tracks on master and tried numerous things but only flanger is working in headphone cue.
Can please someone tell me what's going on with teh RR units and the behavior I have mentioned?
Everything should work or nothing - but one effect out of three is confusing - the whole behaviour is confusing. RR doesn't work / partly works, RX works flawlessly.
Running on the latest 1.03 Firmware btw.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your answer.
But why is everything pre fader on the normal RX(1)? That's what I don't understand because it works in the headphone cue (single channel cue, NO master cue) :/
The RR - as far as I know - can not cue the master but only CH 1 and 2 separately.
You should be able to hear the sound of the MASTER from the headphones by turning the headphone mixing adjustment Vo all the way to the right.
Ofc, you're right. Since I never turn the knob to the right and leave it between master and cue points, I forgot about that.
But still. RX / RX (2) works, RR doesn't (except for flanger).
