There is a small difference in the sensitivity between modes, but you should be able to adjust to compensate for it. Which hardware are you using, with which firmware, on which version of rekordbox?
When I'm playing with Rekordbox in performance mode everything is fine. I can adjust the phase of the track playing with intuitive rotation speed of the jog.
When I'm in USB mode even a slight movement causes an extreme pitch change. When the master tempo button isn't active, the pitch change is so extreme that the track sounds terrible and it is noticeable to everyone. It only works as intended when I use extremely gentle rotation speed.
I'm new to the console and haven't figured anything out. But I was playing in USB mode last week and this issue didn't bother me at all, didn't notice that. So I guess some setting must have changed but I can't find which.
Anybody got a suggestion?

Hello and thanks for your fast response. Installed is the newest firmware that was available last week. Regarding Rekordbox, still using 5.8.5 on the PC. But when the console is connected with the PC it is fine.
But I have the issue when the console isn't connected to a PC at all.
Well of course I'll be able to adjust when I do tiny tiny careful pushes/pulls on the jog wheel, but it doesn't feel intuitive because you just have to concentrate so much to be really careful.
We got the XDJ-XZ last week and have been using it stand-alone mode with two individual persons. None of us remembered to be aware of the issue that seemed so present today.
Trying to explain again... pushing the jog wheel "a little" and instantly hearing the tune of the track changing significantly. It is like the tempo increases by like 50% or so for a split second.. or as long as you turn the jog.
@Pulse: A smal difference? Sorry, no way is it only a small difference - how can you make such a statement?
As a standalone console only playing in USB modus, for today it's totally USELESS for me.
I found in the CDJ forums other people who have the same problem like me and their threadstarter:
forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/900001462003-CDJ-3000-jog-wheel-pitch-bend-issue-?page=1#commentsCDJ 3000 jog wheel pitch bend issue – Pioneer DJ
And this youtube video describes the same problem I have:

This CDJ-thread exists since 17. september, today it's 3. december - and there is still no solution for this BIG problem?
I hope this problem will be solved very soon, because this is a big disappointment, not only to me. :-(
This are my settings:The newest firmware Version 1.12 together with Rekordbox 5.8.5.
Yes, this is the same issue.
@Nat > I make this statement because I've used every model of product we've produced, in stand-alone as well as a controller, where applicable to the product. Yes, there are differences between products, even between different units of the same model, and also when using them in different modes (again, control vs. stand-alone). I recognize that these differences require that I adjust the amount of input I give the jog to achieve the desired result. This is no different than renting a car and discovering that the brakes are more responsive when you press the pedal a little bit vs. your own car at home.
We are aware of the complaints surrounding the CDJ-3000 jog and have already made statements and one update to start addressing the issue, with the second update to come. Your patience is appreciated.
As for the XDJ-XZ, there have not been similar complaints as the delta in response between the two modes is not as great.
In the other thread here (see link above) there is someone else who "complains" about the same thing for a XDJ-XZ.
But from the way you respond to customer complaints I get the feeling, that you don't care at all and maybe other people don't even bother making complaints because you get the feeling it is just a waste of time to bother you with our issues with your product.
@Frank > Not at all, we welcome all feedback on the products. In fact, I even made a video for you guys to illustrate that there is a negligible difference between player modes.
And again, the linked forum topic is discussing the CDJ-3000 which DID have problems that are being addressed.
adjust the jog tension and make sure you're in vinyl mode, not CD mode
