Pioneer DJM S9 Sample Pads not working

Hey guys,

I accidentally updated to Big Sur. Since then I have noticed that the sample pads no longer work when starting up and also when using with Serato DJ Pro.

Setting and playing the hot cues still work. However, Roll, Slice and Sample functions are not working anymore. As you can see in the picture, the pads just stay dark after starting the mixer. I additionally uploaded a video to Youtube showing the mixer starting while Serato is already opened:

In the video you can see that the sample pads work in principle. So I suspect that the problem is due to the early update from Catalina to Big Sur?

Important to mention:

The notebook is a MacBook Pro 2017 (Mid).

I updated the firmware from 1.08 to 1.09 after the iOS update. This did not fix the error. In addition, I wanted to update the audio drivers. However, this failed.

Hope you guys have any ideas.

However, as I suspect, it could (hopefully) be the iOS, since Big Sur is not officially supported yet?

Do I need to consider downgrading the notebook?

Hey Henning,

Love the skin!

Unfortunately, per the news announcement updated on December 22nd, we still do not recommend users upgrade to Big Sur at this time, as we have not yet verified compatibility for our products. There are two options available for most users:

1) Wait until the updated drivers are released. We expect the validation to be completed soon but do not have a timeline available. Any driver updates will be released as they are completed.

2) Downgrade your computer to Catalina. The problem with this option is it's a destructive downgrade requiring the formatting of your drive. There are instructions available online for backing up your user data, then installing Catalina and restoring the data, but we are not responsible for that process. This is not an option for users with the new Apple M1 CPUs as Catalina will not work on those computers.

Please watch our social media channels and news page for announcements.

Thank you for your patience,
