Recording a mix on xdj700 + DJM700

I recently purchased the xdj700 and djm700 and want to know whats the best way to recording a set. I am use to my old controller where I used a computer on rekordbox. I have tried connecting the xdj's to the computer but then I have to use the computer waveforms rather than the waveform on the xdj.

Thanks

Hi Oscar,

Unfortunately the DJM-700 does not have a USB connection and the XDJ-700's are not hardware unlock devices for rekordbox 6, so if you wanted to use them as controllers in Performance mode, you'd need to purchase a subscription plan or a hardware device which can unlock rekordbox for free. In this mode, you would only see the overview waveform on the display of the XDJ.

You can, however, use the XDJs for free in Export mode, which would allow you to connect the players to the computer via ethernet (you'll need a network switch to connect the two players and your computer), then you use rekordbox like a "smart hard drive" and you can see the full waveform of each song on the XDJ display.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Is there a way to conect something to the mixer which will enable me to rekord the mix. Like an audio interface? etc

Thanks Oscar

In order to record when using an external audio mixer, you would need an audio interface to get that back into the computer. As rekordbox itself is not capable of creating an aggregate (beyond combining CDJ audio interfaces), you can't use a 3rd party audio device to record within rekordbox, so you could use virtually any interface with a stereo pair to record to another application such as Audacity.
