I have the same issue on my ddj 1000 any ideas of a solution?
I am trying to record a little mix with my DDJ 1000 and the recording feature in Rekordbox is not detecting the sound from my controller. What's strange is the master volume bars at the top of Rekordbox can detect the sounds from my DDJ 1000 (the source for recording is Master Out which is the same as the bars at the top). I have all the recent firmware and drivers for said DDJ 1000. Currently using a 2021 Macbook Air with M1 Chip.
Specs for [Preferences] => [Audio]:
=> [Audio] = DDJ 1000 (the checkbox below this is not checked; even when checked recording doesn't work); => [Mixer Mode] = Internal (external is greyed out); => [Input Channels] => [Input Recording] = MASTER OUT (this is greyed out and cannot change); => [Input Deck1-4] = DDJ CH-1-4; => [Output Channels] => DDJ 1000 : MASTER
Specs for [Preferences] => [Controller] => [Recordings]:
=> [Silence Level Threshold] = -38dB (default) (when playing music through DDJ 1000, the audio bars in this section do not move or show); => [Recording starts when:] & [Recording ends when:] = Pressing the REC button
Side note: When I hook up my DDJ 400 to Rekordbox, I am able to record as planned. My gut tells me maybe the problem is within the new firmware* of the DDJ 1000; but I could be completely wrong about that. (*edited from driver to firmware)
Side note 2: When I change [Preferences] => [Audio] => [Audio] from DDJ 1000 to Macbook Air Speakers, the recording feature detects the audio and so does Rekordbox (the audio bars at the top); but I can't hear anything out of my headphones or from my Macbook Speakers. *confused Pikachu*

Did you allow it in the system-level?
System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Mic (left) > rekordbox (right).
Hmm, that's very interesting and also kind of frustrating. I think this security feature was one of the areas I did not think to look into. Now the recording feature is working properly with my DDJ 1000. Thank you Pulse! These little things are why you get paid the big bucks right?
lol - I wish! ;)
Yeah, unfortunately these are the security features implemented by Apple that we have to work around. I'm glad that was the fix tho -- enjoy!
