Sorry guys -- if the function works but the LED does not, it would seem to be a hardware problem. Please contact a Pioneer DJ authorized service centre in your region to have your hardware inspected and/or repaired.
The blue vinyl indicator light on one of my XDJ 1000 MK2 simply stopping working. Is there a way to turn that off or on other than pressing the button? I checked recordbox and player settings and couldn't find anything. It still goes into vinyl mode but does not light up. My decks are roughly 4 months old and don't leave my studio. I imagine if this is a QC issue I should be covered by the warranty but, I'd hate to think that I'm already experiencing issues.
Is there something I'm missing? Has anyone ever experienced this? Please help!
Thanks in advance!

Hey dude, not helpful for you but I've come here as mine has just done the same. Also about four months old, home use only. Looking forward to a response from Pioneer.
the same thing just happened to me yesterday. Blue vinyl light doesn't work all of a sudden although the vinyl function is still there. mine is about 7month old and home use only.
@CbasS > Sorry about that -- please see the link above to have it serviced.
A week ago the Vinyl light indicator stopped working on both of my XDJ-1000 MK2 units. At first I've read about the hardware issue but obviously in my case I thought it was impossible that both lights would burn out at the same time so I wanted to share my experience on the steps I performed to fix the issue, which honestly I'm still trying to understand what cause it.
- I've updated the firmware to latest version so far to this date, the 1.44 by following the instructions from the Pioneer official firmware download at https://www.pioneerdj.com/es-es/support/software/player/xdj-1000mk2/
- This didn't fix it so I turned on my units in service mode to run a diagnose and see if there was some kind of hardware problem, this can be done by holding the Play + Left track search button and then pressing the Power button at the same time. The units will show service mode on the screen, then you can use the Back and Tag track buttons to go through the different options, everything shown as OK but still from the options I selected the Factory reset and confirm by pushing the Tempo button. Then I turned off the units.
- After completing these steps still the lights were not turning on, I turned on both units and this is the tricky part, I don't know how but on my left unit which in this case it was set with the link cable as the main 1 player I plugged my USB flash Drive that was previously inserted on my PC using Rekordbox to analyze and add some playlists. Then I plugged the USB flash drive back into my 1st left Xdj main unit. I turned them on and the lights still were not working, I mixed some tracks and later on I disconnected my USB and turned my units off. At this point I thought ok it didn't work...
- My surprise: next day I went to turn on my XDJs and I don't know if it had anything to do but I turned it on by first holding the Vinyl jog mode button and then pressing the power button, I could see that the Vinyl mode was already activated in the center of the jog wheel and in a matter of 1-2 seconds the Vinyl button light indicator just turned on! I thought ok I'll do the same with my second unit, turned it on the same way but nothing happened, the problem was still there, I manage to turn it on on my main 1st player but didn't work on the second one. I had now one Vinyl light working on one of my units. Obviously I thought well there is something else.
- I switched my units and setup the right unit to the left side and the one I had as my main unit to the right side. Issue was still there so I went again into service mode again, performed a factory reset, nothing happened. I turned on both of my units, set them with the link cable and now the unit I previously switched to the left side was now set as my main 1st player. Turned them off and on and the issue was still there so I inserted the same flash drive which I remind that it was previously inserted on my PC with my updated analyzed and added playlists. My idea was to repeat all the steps that I manage to fix the Vinyl light indicator on the other unit. I performed a mix from my new Rekordbox playlists as same as I did before, then I disconnected the flash drive from my main unit (in this case the one that still had the vinyl light indicator not working) I turned both units off and said ok now I'll wait for another miracle...
- Next day I turned on my left main unit again by holding the Vinyl jog button and then pressing the power button and voila: again I was able to see that the Vinyl mode was active in the center of the jog wheel and after 1-2 seconds the Vinyl light indicator turned on. Issue fixed on both units.
I understand that for some people it might by actually a hardware issue but still I hope these steps works for some to solve the issue :)
My vinyl button light also stopped working. I only did the last part of the last post.
I disconnected the ethernet cable and switched on the unit when I was holding the vinyl jog button and the power on button down for a couple of seconds after the loading screen was finished.. Suddenly the light came back on...
